Sweden gives Princess Victoria a marital mansion

When Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden ties the knot with her entrepreneur fiancé Daniel Westling the couple won't have to look far for a new base. They are to set up home together at Haga Palace near Stockholm.

The Swedish government has offered the couple use of the property, which has served as a residence for important oversees visitors since 1996.  And the couple have accepted.

Although it hasn't been permanently occupied in recent years the stately neo-classical mansion holds a special position in the royal family. It was where King Carl Gustaf and his sisters were born and where they lived until the death of their father in a plane crash in 1947.
