Cameron Douglas faces life sentence after guilty plea

Cameron Douglas, the son of actor Michael and his first wife Diandra, could be facing life in prison after pleading guilty to selling drugs.

The 31-year-old has admitted dealing large amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine out of a New York hotel room - a charge that carries a minimum ten-year prison term and maximum life sentence.

He has also confessed to the posession of heroin after his girlfriend attempted to smuggle the drug to him through a toothbrush while he was recently under house arrest.

Cameron told a judge on Thursday that he began "supplying on a regular basis" and admitted that he knew what he was doing was wrong.

After the hearing he was taken back to the Metropolitan Correctional Centre in New York and will be sentenced on April 27.
