Pink Floyd star leaves fortune to children but leaves out wives

Wednesday September 30, 2009

Rick Wright – the late keyboard player for Seventies prog-rock group Pink Floyd – left £24 million to his children when he passed away last year at the age of 65, his will has revealed.

His sons James, 42, 17-year-old Ben and 39-year-old daughter Gala will inherit the lion's share of Rick's fortune.

And the trio have also been put in charge of the valuable rights to Rick's musical, literary and performance work.

The legal document also made arrangements for a "really good party" for the musician's friends and family – with £20,000 put aside to ensure it goes off with a bang.

None of the musician's three former wives – Franka, Juliette and Millie - are mentioned in the will.

It is thought his last wife and mum of Ben, Millie - who separated from the musician in the year before his death - received a substantial divorce settlement after their marriage.

A founding member of Pink Floyd, Rick, whose full name was Richard William Wright, died in his Kensington home on September 15 last year.
