Brad Pitt has bought his wife Jennifer Aniston a piece of Hollywood history - the yacht once owned by Richard Burton and silver screen goddess Elizabeth Taylor.

The 165ft Kalizma was originally purchased by Richard Burton in 1967, when he wanted to congratulate Liz on her Oscar for Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?. The couple named it after their three children together, Kate, Liza and Marie.

In the 1960s and 70s the luxurious Edwardian motorboat was the venue for many glamorous parties. Tennessee Williams and actor Rex Harrison were among the big names who enjoyed the famous couple's hospitality on board.

The Welsh star paid 80,000 when he bought the yacht, but it is reported to set Brad back by a staggering 3 million. With enough room to sleep ten people and a crew of eight, it features an antique-furnished dining-room, four-poster beds and artworks by Picasso, Monet and Van Gogh.
