The Hong Kong-born British wife of Prince Joachim of Denmark, Princess Alexandra, has given birth to the couple’s second child, the royal palace announced on Monday.
Queen Margrethe’s newest grandson came into the world at 10:56am at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen.
The 3.5 kg little boy, who arrived about one week before his due date, is said to be in perfect health, along with his mother.
As the second grandchild of Queen Margrethe of Denmark – Joachim and Alexandra have another son, three-year-old Nikolai – the infant is fourth in succession to the Danish throne.
The name of the baby has not yet been released.
