In the second part of a documentary screened in the US this week the late Princess Diana describes how she approached Camilla Parker Bowles at a party.
"I was terrified of her," Diana is heard saying on tapes originally made for her biographer, Andrew Morton. "I said, ‘I know what is going on between you and Charles and I just want you to know that’."
According to Diana, Camilla said: "You’ve got what you wanted. You’ve got all the men in the world falling in love with you and you’ve got two beautiful children, what more do you want?’" The Princess says she replied: “I want my husband.”
The first part of the documentary, which chronicled the extent of Di’s heartache over her marriage, featured only audio tapes of the Princess. The second programme also included secretly recorded video tapes taken by voice coach Peter Settelen.
