Denmark's Princess Alexandra lived up to her reputation for elegance when she stepped out in the northern city of Frederiksberg. The Hong Kong-born royal, who was making an appearance in her role as president of her country's branch of Unicef, was looking radiant in a black velvet jacket and a retro-style skirt of oversize black and white sequins.
The princess, who has been doing all she can to raise funds for victims of the tsunami tragedy in Asia, was in town to collect a donation from the citizens of Frederiksberg. Alexandra is well-known for her commitment to good causes, serving as a patron for 21 different organisations in her adopted homeland.
Despite the recent upheavals in her personal life, the royal has continued to immerse herself in charity work. In September she and her husband Prince Joachim announced that they were to divorce, but just a few weeks later the princess travelled to Asia in person to publicise efforts to help impoverished girls in the region.
And upon her return to Copenhagen the pretty royal hosted a gala ball to raise money for the agency’s work. Thanks in part to her participation, Denmark is one of the top five per capita donors to Unicef. |
