If her action-packed trip to Australia is anything to go by, Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria will one day become Europe's most multi-faceted monarch. Over the course of her six-day visit, the pretty royal proved that she is equally comfortable dazzling onlookers on the red carpet, getting to grips with a wild animal or even taking the wheel of juggernaut.

Upon her arrival in the country, the 27-year-old set the flashbulbs blazing at a gala dinner in Melbourne's National Gallery. Dressed in an Asian-inspired violet silk gown and diamond earrings, she proved her style credentials in no uncertain terms.

And the future queen was looking equally elegant the following afternoon when she attended an exhibition of Swedish design in a little black dress, a la Audrey Hepburn. Later in the trip she revealed herself as an animal lover by getting up close and personal with some of Australia's fauna at Healsville Animal Sanctuary. The princess enjoyed a cuddle with a baby wombat, not to mention snuggling up to a young koala bear.

King Carl Gustav's eldest daughter even proved her mettle in some high-octane pursuits, by going for a spin in an enormous truck, before joining the regulars at Prince's Park for a rather more sedate game of bowls. Meeting with leading politicians in Sydney meant it was time to turn on the style once again, though, so the Scandinavian VIP donned a yellow silk dress, loosely belted with a waist chain, on Wednesday afternoon.

After a hectic few days Down Under, Victoria would be forgiven for wanting a bit of a rest. But the people of Australia are not likely to forget the many surprising talents of Sweden's future queen.
