WILLIAM JOINS HARRY IN SEEING THE FUNNY SIDE OF ARMY LIFE

5 JULY 2006

Not long after Prince Harry had difficulty retaining his composure on duty, Prince William seems to have found it equally hard to suppress a smile as he took part in a parade at Blenheim Palace last week.

Dressed in ceremonial uniform, William, who is training to be an officer at Sandhurst Military Academy, struggled to keep a straight face as his Blenheim Company was inspected and presented to His Grace the Duke of Marlborough.

The problem of maintaining a suitably sombre mien clearly runs in the family, as the future heir to the throne's suppressed amusement brought to mind Harry's blushing hilarity as he graduated from Sandhurst in April. The young royal was reacting to a comment by his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, who stopped in front of him and said: "Now here's a face I recognise."
