Princess Kate's secret engagement revealed as she continues busy schedule

The Princess of Wales quietly held a secret engagement on Monday that could hint at her future projects. 

Kate, 44, received Sarah Henwood, who is Chief Executive of the Prince and Princess of Wales's Royal Foundation, at Windsor Castle. 

Sarah joined Prince William and Kate's Royal Foundation in February as their new CEO, taking over from Amanda Berry, who had been in the position since 2022. 

At the time, she shared that she was looking forward to working on the couple's "remarkable initiatives" – so the new meeting may hint that there are some exciting things to come.

A note by Kensington Palace in the Court Circular, which documents the royal family's official engagements, read: "The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron of the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon received Mrs Sarah Henwood (Chief Executive) at Windsor Castle."

Prince William also completed a low-key engagement on Monday, again with no photographs released. 

The Prince of Wales has also been busy as he chaired a meeting of The Prince's Council, the board of the Duchy of Cornwall, also at Windsor Castle. 

Prince William and Kate's new hire Sarah Henwood releases statement

Sarah wrote in a LinkedIn post in February that she was feeling "awe, excitement and a fresh energy" ahead of stepping into her new role. 

At the same time, she announced a personal "rebrand" and said she will be known as Sarah Henwood in the new role, instead of Sarah Rose, as she had previously been known online.

She wrote on the networking platform: "I take up the reins as CEO of The Royal Foundation in February with awe, excitement and a fresh energy to play my part in the brilliant and important work the team there are already doing.

"I am not a big poster on LinkedIn, but I will use this platform going forward to shine a light on some of the remarkable initiatives the Foundation is working on for the Prince and Princess of Wales."

She's since shared regular updates on the royal couple's projects, calling her new job "extraordinary".

For World Suicide Prevention Day earlier this month, the former Paramount president shared: "I have felt from day one at The Royal Foundation the privilege of the platform we have and the critical importance that we use it well."

The Royal Foundation is an amalgamation of the Waleses' nearest and dearest causes close to their hearts, for example, Kate's work with the Early Years and William's Earthshot Prize environmental awards. 

The Princess of Wales's busy schedule

The Princess has had a busy few weeks, after it was revealed she hosted a surprise tea party at Windsor Castle for Three Peaks challenge participants.

The royal welcomed guests into the royal home, chatting about the mountain-climbing adventure over tea and cake.

It came one day after she completed a solo visit to Southend-on-Sea with the Forward Trust to mark Addiction Awareness Week. 

Kate also attended the Digger premiere with Prince William in London's Leicester Square last week, reuniting with a gallant Tom Cruise, who offered her his hand as they walked down some steps.
