The notice reads: "Mr J.S. von Sasse and Miss K.A. Minogue. ‘The engagement is announced between Joshua, so of the late Dominic Sasse and of Mary Heale (neé Macauley) of Herefordshire and Kylie, eldest daughter of Ronald and Carol Minogue of Melbourne, Australia."

Kylie and her boyfriend Joshua Sasse have announced their engagement

It is believed that the pair chose to make the announcement through the newspaper because of Joshua’s family connections with The Telegraph. His great-grandfather William Berry, 1 st Viscount Camrose, bought the newspaper in 1927. He also owned The Sunday Times, and several other news outlets.

The Australian sparked engagement rumours earlier this week, when she walked the red carpet at the NME awards, sporting a large diamond engagement ring.

The pair first met when they both appeared in the American TV show Galavant, in September, although the singer didn’t confirm the romance until November. "I have a love of my life which is just a beautiful thing. I am kind of on cloud nine most of the times of Mr Joshua Sasse, my beau," the 47-year-old told the Daily Mail.

Kylie says that despite the 19-year age gap, their love is 'just right'

Addressing the 19-year age gap, the 5ft 9in star said age is just a number when it comes to love. "I think the general consensus is, we kind of look right together. So even though on paper it might not look right, it just is right," she said to The Project.

So will we be hearing the pitter-patter of tiny feet soon? "Who knows if family is on any one of my horizons? I don’t know. But if that were to happen that would be incredible," she told Desert Island Discs host, Kirsty Young.
