Congratulations are in order for Jamie and Jools Oliver's eldest daughter Poppy, who is engaged to her long-term partner, Ben.
Jools, 51, shared the joyous news on Instagram on Wednesday, posting a montage of photos from the couple's sun-soaked engagement - including one showcasing Poppy's gorgeous ring. The milestone is a significant one for the famous family, as Poppy, 24, is the first of the five Oliver children to walk down the aisle.
"Probably one of my favourite reels so far," Jules wrote in the caption. "Our first baby Poppy Honey is getting married. We are so excited, proud and happy. Ben we all adore you."
Reflecting on the pair's first meeting at university, Jools continued: "Little did I know as we moved Pop in to her second house at University, whilst I was sweating over your shoe rack flat pack you seemed very distracted with the boy who had just moved in next door. 4 years later you had met you soul mate. So excited for the next chapter. Love you.
The announcement was met with a wave of congratulatory messages from friends and fans. Journalist Lorraine Candy penned: "Oh wow how fantastic. Also a bit jealous," while entrepreneur Holly Tucker wrote: "Ahhhhh the happiest news! Huge congratulations to dear Poppy and to you all."
A graduate of the University of Leeds with a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, Poppy has since established a successful career in PR. After finishing her studies in 2023, she and Ben spent time travelling across Australia.
Jools marked her daughter's departure on social media at the time. Alongside a snap of her hugging her eldest child, she penned: "Oh my word, well that was SO hard. Another milestone of parenting that I am not that into! Have the time of your life, little Pops. We are so proud of you and Ben. Make the most of every single minute and have the adventure of a lifetime. It goes without saying that each and every one of us is going to miss you so deeply."
Jools and Jamie's five children
Jools and Jamie are proud parents of five children: Poppy, 24, Daisy, 23, Petal, 17, Buddy, 15, and River, nine.
While their eldest daughters, Poppy and Daisy, have both left the nest, Jules and Jamie look forward to frequent reunions. "We do still have that buzz that comes with the rhythm of school and family life with the younger three," Jamie told HELLO! last year. "The two older girls might have left home, but we still speak every day, and they come back a lot, so we're never a smaller team for long."
