The 19th Earl of Derby and the Countess of Derby celebrated their daughter Lady Henrietta Stanley's high-society wedding with Alexander (Sasha) Reviakin over the weekend.
After meeting at the National Gallery in 2024, London, Sasha proposed during the couple's holiday in Spain in 2025. Just over one year later, on 4 July 2026, guests gathered at Liverpool Cathedral for the wedding ceremony, before travelling to the family seat of Knowsley Hall for the wedding reception – the first in 160 years.
Alongside the first wedding photos, Caroline Stanley, who was close friends and schoolmates with Princess Diana, wrote on Instagram: "A momentous occasion yesterday to see our daughter Hetty marry Sasha – 4th of July 2026 – the first family wedding to be held here for 160 years. It was a truly wonderful day surrounded by family and friends. More to follow with official pictures but here’s a few snaps of our darling Hetty on her wedding day."
The beautiful photos showed the bride, 29, in a strapless lace wedding dress from Suzanne Neville with a sweetheart neckline, a structured bodice and an A-line skirt, which she teamed with a diamond choker and the Derby Tiara, both from her mother.
With her blonde hair pulled into a loose updo, Henrietta showcased the heirloom tiara, which featured eleven palmettes and lotus flowers from Skinner & Co around 1890.
Caroline wore the headpiece – which is very similar to the Devonshire Palmette Tiara, created in 1893 for the Duchess of Devonshire – to wed Edward Stanley in 1995, but it also has a rich history that dates back years earlier. One of the most notable appearances was at Queen Elizabeth II's coronation at Westminster Abbey in 1953, when the 18th Countess paired it with the traditional crimson velvet coronation robes.
In more recent outings, the current Countess of Derby wore the family jewel at a white-tie ball hosted by Elton John in 2006, and a Marie Curie fundraiser in 2011. She also loaned it to Isobel Stanley, the niece of the 18th Earl, for her wedding to Tristram Coates at Ely Cathedral in 2023.
Perhaps we can expect to see it again at the family's next wedding celebration, after Henrietta's brother Lord Stanley announced his engagement to Victoria Jooris in May.
