Born in Paris, Emma Watson found sudden fame at the age of nine, when she was cast as Hermoine Granger in an adaptation of the worldwide bestselling Harry Potter series.
Emma, along with Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint - who would be her cast mates for the next ten years -, was told that the role was hers after eight auditions.
Her role as one of the most important characters in the series led worldwide fame and recognition, although in recent years Emma has admitted to being jealous of emerging actresses.
“There are all these actresses who have emerged in the last year or two, and they get to emerge as this complete human being. And I'm so jealous!” said the 24-year-old.
However Emma has gone on to successfully star in several hit films outside of the Harry Potter franchise, including the critically acclaimed The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Bling Ring.
She has also recently starred alongside Russell Crowe in the biblical tale Noah, and Emma wowed red carpet crowds across the world with various stylist outfits.
From Oscar de la Renta to Ralph Lauren, the actress turned heads as she premiered her new film.
It’s not surprising as Emma has also turned her hand to modelling, appearing in Burberry’s 2009/2010 spring/summer campaign, and becoming the face of beauty brand Lancôme in 2011.
The actress has also made sure she made time for an education, enrolling in Brown University in the US in 2009, before later deferring her course for a few months. She was then a visitor student at Oxford University, where she met fellow student Matt Janney, who attends Oxford University.
The couple were photographed in the Caribbean, holding hands and kissing, and Emma later confirmed their relationship.
She will graduate from Brown University in May 2014.
