Liam Payne and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini enjoyed a romantic date night in London on Tuesday night. The couple, who recently returned from Los Angeles, walked hand-in-hand as they arrived at Sexy Fish restaurant in Mayfair.

Acting like the perfect gentleman, Liam helped Cheryl out of their car and led her by the hand through the gathered paparazzi into the restaurant. The One Direction star was dressed down in black jeans and a leather jacket, while Cheryl looked stylish in loose leather trousers and a palm tree print bomber jacket worn over a red cami top.

Their high profile appearance comes just days after it was reported that Liam and Cheryl had moved in together in Los Angeles, where Cheryl was busy recording her new album. A source told The Mirror: "Cheryl and Liam are getting more serious by the day. They want to make the most of their time with each other before Cheryl has to go back to the UK, so it made sense for her to come and live with him."

The couple even spent time with Cheryl's former boss Simon Cowell during their time in the US, with the music mogul describing the couple as "madly in love".

"I saw them together and we had a really nice dinner. They were on good form," Simon told The Sun. "They're like two little chipmunks madly in love. Literally they were so cute."

The X Factor judge also gave the new couple his seal of approval, explaining: "But importantly they both seemed very happy and very relaxed. I'm happy for them."

Liam and Cheryl's relationship came to light at the end of February, with the couple said to have struck up a close bond after One Direction's performance at the X Factor final in December.

Cheryl has since announced her decision to quit the ITV show, explaining that she wants to focus on her music career.
