Terri Irwin has posted an emotional tribute to her son Robert on his 13th birthday, commenting on how much she is missing her late husband Steve on this special occasion. The 52-year-old took to her Twitter page to share a throwback picture of the Crocodile Hunter holding their little boy as a toddler.

"While my heart aches that Steve isn't here for Robert's 13th birthday, each day I'm more aware that Steve lives on thru his incredible son," she wrote alongside the image. It's been ten years since the wildlife expert was killed by a stingray.

Robert's older sister Bindi, 18, also penned a heartfelt message, writing on Instagram: "Happy Birthday to this amazing human being, my brother. Today you turn 13 and I am so proud of you. This photo was taken many years ago, I still can't believe that today you're a teenager. Since the first day I met you, when you were born, I knew you were destined for great things. You inspire me every day. I love you." [sic]

Since the global star's death, his wife has been committed to keeping the Crocodile Hunter's legacy alive through his conservation work with Australia Zoo, and by raising their children. The American-born author, who met Steve during an educational trip to Australia in the early '90s, recently revealed that she has remained single ever since her husband's passing and insists she has no interest to date again.

"I haven't been on a single date since Steve died," she told Australian Woman's Weekly, later adding: "If I hadn't met Steve, I probably would never have married because I wasn't looking for love when I met him. What we had was incredible."
