Oritse Williams has been charged with rape after he allegedly attacked a fan in a hotel room back in December 2016 after promoting his solo album at Gorgeous Club. The West Midlands Police confirmed the news in a statement, which read: "We've charged two men with sexual offences after an allegation of rape at a Wolverhampton hotel. West Midlands Police were called to a Wolverhampton hotel at 7.45am on Friday 2 December after an allegation of rape and sexual assault was made by a 20-year-old woman. A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and a 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of sexual assault."

Oritse has been arrested and charged

The 31-year-old is set to appear in court on 11 October. Oritse's management company, 10 Worlds Music UK, denied the claims in a statement which read: "Oritse denies the allegations against him. The matter is in the hands of the police and it would be totally wrong for us to comment any further." A second man involved in the incident, Jamien Nagadhana, has been charged with serious sexual assault.

Oritse was a member of the popular boyband JLS

Oritse quit his role as ambassador for the MS Society and music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins after he was arrested and released a statement which read: "It is with great sadness that I am announcing that I am stepping back from my charity work with immediate effect. This work has always been a big motivation for me and is something close to my heart and this has not been an easy decision for me. I had taken a conscious decision to avoid talking to the press about the matter whilst the police are conducting their investigation as I do not think it appropriate to do so."
