Bringing Up Bates star Lawson Bates has proposed to his 22-year-old girlfriend Tiffany Espenson.

Lawson, who had long been rumored to be courting Jana Duggar, proposed at Senuta Larnianone in Siena, Italy, secretly arranging the sunset proposal as they filmed a music video together.

"Tiff, I don’t have a lot of words, because you’ve been taking my breath away ever since I met you," the 29-year-old shared on Instagram.
"Getting to know you this past year has made more brighter days and memories than I could’ve ever dreamed. I cannot wait to make a lifetime more of them with you! Thank you for saying 'YES' to our forever."

Fans were over the moon for the pair, with one writing: "Wishing you many years of happiness together!!! As soon as I saw you guys were in Italy I knew a proposal was happening. How can you not get engaged while in Italy?"
Another joked: "Hearts are breaking all over the world right now!"

The pair began dating in February 2021 and Lawson told People magazine that "getting to know Tiffany — her heart, her passions, and her dreams — has been the greatest joy of my life, and we have been making so many wonderful memories together over the past year".
Tiffany added that she "knew something was suspicious when Lawson became awfully secretive with texts and planning with others" but that she was still "blown away" by the surprise.
"I am so grateful for how much effort he put into this engagement, from the ring to the beautiful setting and all of the coordinated details," she shared. "This will always be a wonderful memory that Lawson and I will share forever."

"We are so grateful God brought us both into each other's lives, and now we are overjoyed and excited to start preparing for our wedding and our future together," added Lawson.
Fans believed Jana and Lawson may have been courting in 2020 when he left heart-filled flirty comments on her Instagram including asking her to explain the instructions further when she shared a picture of herself holding a sig that said: "Please form single line."

The 31-year-old Counting On star is the only of-age child of Jim Bob and Michelle not yet married; many of the children are wed by the age of 20.
