Jennifer proved that a pared back approach is often best

Keeping it classic

Sometimes simple is best, as Jennifer proved in 1997 with a pared-back white bikini, perfect for a lazy day in the Bahamas.

Enjoying a stay at Club Med, the singer looked well at home posing against sculpted railings that perfectly match her beachwear. With a golden tan and coiffed curls, no one does 'classic' quite like JLo.

Champagne taste

Two-pieces aren't just a perfect pick for a hot summer's day on the beach. JLo is well known for her extravagant stage outfits and isn't shy about making an impact with a glitzy bikini.

In 1999, she sported a champagne sequin bra and matching sparkly mini skirt, complete with knee-high black boots, for a hit performance at the Billboard Music Awards.

Star-studded stage style

Jennifer's proved she can make subtle shades work, but for a singer with a stage presence like hers it's no wonder the artist sometimes opts for a more vivid hue.

In 2017, she took to the stage in a bright red bikini with waist-high pants for TIDAL X in Brooklyn. Encrusted with gems, it might not be an ideal pick for a summer holiday get-up but it certainly stole the show.

Sporty style

Jennifer is sure to bring the summer with each of her releases, but in 2002 she brought a little extra beach-side energy to Harlem in Manhattan.

The singer offered a wave to the camera while filming the video for 'I'm Gonna Be Alright' at 119th Street in New York. A blue, sporty bikini completed the look and defined cool.

Casual cover-up

In 2013, Jennifer Lopez dressed up a simple black bikini with a printed turquoise wrap, proving that the best beach outfits work as a perfect base layer.

Shooting in the Florida sun, Jennifer left her long hair loose while pacing the sand, letting one shoulder of her cover-up casually drop down her arm.

Return to nature

The singer and actress matched with the Bahamas' perfect blue sky and gentle waves in a simple white two-piece and a sheer blue shawl.

Patterned with geometric flowers, the outfit encapsulated the Bahamas' reputation as a spot for relaxation on the sand, surrounded by the beautiful flora of the Carribbean.
