Alison Hammond took to social media to tell her followers what happened when she ended up leaving This Morning during an episode after she fell ill.
The presenter, who was with Dermot O'Leary at the time, was seen gripping her chest during a segment, with the show quickly cutting to ads. When it returned, Dermot explained that Alison had to "duck out" after "feeling a little unwell".
Alison, who also presents The Great British Bake Off, has now told fans that she experienced a heart palpitation and had been admitted to hospital to have it examined.
On her Instagram Stories, she said: "Hello, my lovelies. I know you’re all worried about me. Honestly, I am fine, first of all, but I'm getting my old ticker checked out. I had a little bit of a palpitation, and now I'm getting it all checked out. But I think I’m OK. I'm hoping it was just a little panic attack or something like that."
She continued: "I'm so sorry I left you. I would never normally do that. I would never leave a TV show – so you know I wasn’t very well. Hopefully I’m going to be all right. The doctors are so lovely, and they’re checking me out, and hopefully everything’s going to be fine.
"I love you. Everything is fine! I’m rocking it. Look how good I look – still got my make-up on from this morning. Lush."
True to her signature sense of humour, she joked: "Anything to have a day off."
Alison Hammond's weight loss
In recent years, Alison has lost a jaw-dropping 11 stone, and what's more, she lost her weight naturally instead of relying on weight-loss drugs.
"Listen. People are going to assume anything. They weren’t happy with me being big; they weren't happy with me being small," Alison told The Telegraph, while also revealing that she had been diagnosed with pre-diabetes.
She added: "It makes me laugh when I see comments like 'Alison is so skinny now'. I'm still overweight! I'm a size 20! I’m by far not at my ideal weight for my height. But the main thing is my diabetes is now in the optimum range."
Her current personal training routine is a mix of boxing, weights, circuit training and Reformer Pilates, which is a low-impact form of exercise that has become a favourite exercise amongst celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Aniston.
"I've just started doing Reformer Pilates and, oh my God, it's so good. You feel absolutely incredible after it. I really need a good stretch – I'm stiff as a board – so Reformer Pilates has been brilliant for me," she told Closer magazine.
