Hilary Duff's return to music continues with a music video for new single "CATastrophe" that takes the viewer into a psychedelic wonderland - but it's her gorgeous lingerie-inspired dress that caught our attention.
In the video, Hilary is transported to a wonderfully wild new world inspired by Dr. Seuss, where she looks pretty in pink as she lounges on a mossy landscape surrounded by oversized flowers in a pale pink silk dress, with a sheer bodice and floral appliques.
Lingerie trend
Lingerie-as-dresses has been a key trend of summer 2026 and into fall, with Dakota Johnson wearing a French lace V-neck creation from Colleen Allen's Spring 2026 collection for the London premiere of Verity in late September, and Daisy Edgar-Jones stepping out in a glamorous, sheer lingerie-style slip dress by 16Arlington for the Sense & Sensibility premiere days later.
Hailey Bieber opted for an archival Roberto Cavalli midi slip dress with lace-trimmed embroidery for a date night with Justin Bieber, while in July, on vacation, Nicole Kidman wore a burnt-orange Dodo Bar Or satin slip dress.
Dr Seuss as inspiration
"CATastophe" is the lead single for the upcoming Cat in the Hat film soundtrack.
"Dr. Seuss was on repeat in our house for years, so when this came around I didn’t have to think about it," the 39-year-old said, sharing that the song is "about that feeling when your whole world gets picked up and moved somewhere else and nobody asks you first."
Hilary is mom to four children: son Luca, 14, with ex-husband Mike Comrie, and three children – Banks, Mae and Townes – with husband Matthew Koma.
The year of Hilary Duff
The new video comes after Hilary confirmed she would be extending her Lucky Me Tour into 2027 with 32 new tour dates across Europe, Latin America and the U.S.
The announcement followed a hugely successful run of 2026 concerts that saw her perform sold-out shows at venues including the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The tour celebrated the release of her luck…or something, her first album in over a decade. The album was critically acclaimed and commercially successful, and the singer went on to be named one of Time Magazine's 100 most influential people of 2026.
Hilary was also one of four cover stars on the 2026 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, on which she wore a plunging one-piece white swimsuit.
"I can look at my body now and appreciate all the things it has done for me," she told the publication. "I no longer find that I am constantly comparing myself – and that is a better place to exist."
