Louise Redknapp has shared her sadness after the family's beloved pet dog, Rudi, was put to sleep at the age of 12.
The former Eternal singer shared the sad news on social media, posting pictures of the pup throughout his life, including cuddling up with her sons, Charley and Beau, when they were younger.
In her caption, Louise penned: "Our hearts are broken, our gorgeous boy Rudi went to sleep forever today. Thank you for 12 amazing years of love and memories Rudes, you were the most gentle, loving boy, you've grown old watching Chaz and Beau grow up and kept Banks in check from day one and been my shadow since the day we got you as a tiny wrinkly puppy.
"We're going to miss you doing what ever you feel like doing when you feel like doing it, managing to escape any barricade put in place 'Roudini', telling Banksy off, pawing us all for strokes 24/7 and most of all those wrinkles and that little curly tail wagging when we come through the front door."
Her followers were quick to pay tribute, including Ruth Langsford, who recently lost her own dog. "Oh darling I’m so sorry… we lost our beautiful Maggie last week," the former This Morning star wrote. "Feeling your pain and sending you & the boys massive love. Hold your memories close."
A second commented: "I'm so sorry. Sending prayers," while a third posted: "Oh Lou, sending you loads of love and hugs," and a fourth wrote: "Oh I'm so sorry to hear this, no heartbreak like it! Rudi was a beaut! Big hugs to you and your family."
Louise's previous sadness
Rudi isn't the first dog that Louise has sadly lost, as back in 2022, she bid farewell to her dog, Blu. "I am absolutely heartbroken that we had to say goodbye to our little girl Blu early this morning," she began the caption.
"I am going to miss you so much my darling girl, your escaping through the fence, chasing the squirrels out of the garden, our long walks in the woods watching you run carefree, going upstairs when we say 'bed time' and getting on mummy's bed instead of in your own and most of all your kisses and cuddles every day."
She continued: "I wanted to share this with you because I know so many of you follow their insta page and loved seeing what Blu and Rudi were up to and loved them as much as we did. We'll miss you so much, sleep tight our gorgeous Bluebells. Love you forever Mummy, Chaz and Beau Beau's Xxx."
