The stars descended on London's Palladium Theatre on Monday night to celebrate the Ballon d'Or ceremony, with everyone from Sophie Turner to Harry Kane in attendance on football's most prestigious night. England captain Harry Kane took home the men's Ballon d'Or and thanked his wife, Katie Goodland, in his speech.
"Being in London, it is extra special; it felt like a good omen," he said onstage. "Thank you to everyone who voted for me. I can imagine it was tough, so thank you."
"To my wife, Kate, my best friend. We've been through ups and downs for sure. You're my biggest supporter. I actually felt like you wanted this more than me myself," he continued.
"You always want the best for me, you sacrifice yourself to help me achieve my dreams, and I know they're your dreams as well, so it wouldn't be possible without you. This is a trophy that we celebrate, not me."
Spanish legend Alexia Putellas won the women's Ballon d'Or for the third time, and encouraged others to get on the field and play during her speech. "If you want to play football, you play football; it doesn't matter if you're a boy or a girl. Doesn't matter where you come from! Don't listen if someone tells you cannot do it – just do it!" she said.
"Believe in yourself. That's the most important thing. If you have a dream, go for it, even if at some point you have to start at zero – the most important thing is to do it with love and passion." Join HELLO! as we look back on the star-studded night.
