All-star family day out as Mark Owen, Nick Clegg and Kate Garraway fly off to VIP show

Celebrities and their families made room in their diaries at the weekend for a VIP performance of Room On The Broom. The show based on the best-selling book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler is aimed at children but its witty lyrics made it a hit with the grown-ups too.

Take That’s Mark Owen arrived with his wife Emma Ferguson and their two eldest children Elwood, 6, and Willow, 4. Daybreak presenter Kate Garraway was joined by her daughter Darcey, 6, and son Billy, 3. while Holby City’s Tina Hobley took daughter Olivia, 4, and Orson, 2.

Nick Clegg attended with his wife Miriam Gonzalez Durantez and their three sons, Antonio, 10, Alberto, 6 and Miguel, 3.“We told the 10-year-old he was to come to this, and he wasn’t keen but he loved it,” said the deputy Prime Minister.

The cast joined the celebrities who also included Tom Chambers, Donal McIntyre, Jeremy Vine and X Factor’s Melanie Masson for a meet and greet at London’s Lyric Theatre Shaftesbury Avenue after the show from Tall Stories, the company behind previous hit The Gruffalo.https://www.roomonthebroomlive.co.uk/ until January 13
