Rebecca Adlington is reunited with daughter Summer after return from Rio

After a busy week presenting the BBC's coverage of the Olympics swimming events in Rio, Rebecca Adlington couldn't wait to be reunited with her daughter Summer. The proud mum shared a sweet photo of herself and her baby girl together on Tuesday, telling fans there's "#noplacelikehome."

Rebecca looked happy as she cuddled up to the one-year-old in her selfie, which she captioned with a heart emoji and the hashtags "#noplacelikehome #mylove."

Rebecca Adlington was reunited with her daughter Summer on Tuesday

The 26-year-old had made no secret of how much she was missing her daughter during her time at the Olympics, and admitted she was "crying" watching a video of Summer on Saturday.

Posting footage of Summer standing up and pointing at the TV while she was on screen, Rebecca wrote: "This ❤❤❤❤ #missyou#3moresleeps #crying".

Rebecca is believed to have left her adorable daughter in the hands of her ex-husband Harry Needs while she was working alongside Helen Skelton and Mark Foster in Rio. Despite missing Summer, the retired swimmer said she had an "amazing" time at the Olympics, and had high praise for her colleague Helen.

Rebecca admitted she was crying watching this clip of Summer at the weekend

"This week has simply been amazing to watch and see the British Swimmers doing so well. But I want to say a massive thank you to this very special lady @helenskelton," she captioned a photo of herself and Helen together.

"It was my first time covering the Olympics with the BBC and I have learnt so much from Helen. She is such a joy to work with, knows her stuff, so passionate and simply a lovely person."

The presenters had appeared to be having great fun during the Games, and took part in a fun lip-syncing video to Justin Timberlake's Can't Stop the Feeling as they celebrated Team GB's success on Thursday.

BBC Sport tweeted the video, writing: "Forget Carpool Karaoke... This is OUR pool Karaoke w/ @HelenSkelton @BeckAdlington @MarkFosterSwim & co! #HouseOfFun."
