Victoria Beckham took to Instagram on Monday to send her well wishes to her good friend Isabelle Grutman on her birthday. Sharing a picture of herself and her companion, the 51-year-old looked dazzling in a gorgeous outfit with a risqué edge.

The mother of Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper wore a see-through lace top by her eponymous fashion brand. The style looks to be the 'Halter Neck Bodysuit' which retails at £650.

Touted as "sophisticated and sexy" on her website, the style is made from Chantilly lace with scalloped detailing, with a tie at the waist and decorative features at the front.

This style definitely sits in the 'naked' category - a risqué trend that exploded onto the fashion scene in 2025.

Naked dressing

Dressing 'naked' isn't as extreme as it sounds. Coined from the 'naked dress' trend, Victoria proves you can channel the aesthetic with separates. A 'naked' garment gives the illusion of bare skin with panelling, transparent fabric or strategically placed detail such as appliqués or lace.

Victoria teamed the top with a smart black suit and added a VB branded belt, too. I think this is a super sleek, classy way to make this trend work, showing a hint of skin but keeping the rest of the body covered up. Victoria used to embrace the look in her Spice Girl days in the '90s; she was renowned for wearing a lacy bra with a suit. Now, she has made the look wearable in her 50s.

How to make the naked trend work for you

You may think this style of dress is only suited to celebrities, but it's not. By choosing to follow simple yet curated fashion 'fixes', the naked trend can work for any body shape. As a fashion editor who has been writing about style for over fifteen years, here are my easy tips:

1. A flesh-coloured undergarment is your best friend, as it gives the body full coverage underneath a sheer dress or a netted design.

2. The whole look doesn't have to be risqué. If you want to nod at the trend without feeling exposed, try a sheer sleeve or neckline.

3. Great supportive underwear is important, particularly if you choose an item that is sheer. An uplifting bra and comfortable underwear make all the difference and can really streamline the silhouette.
