On Friday afternoon, the fashion pack arrived in droves at the Design Museum in London, where famed high street store Marks & Spencer conducted its first fashion show for London Fashion Week. The momentous occasion was to celebrate 100 years since the retailer introduced clothing.

The collection showcased 59 womenswear and menswear looks, with a wide selection of well-known models of various ages walking the runway. From Lara Stone and Erin O’Connor to Jodie Kidd, Karen Elson, and Lennon Gallagher, they reflected the diverse ages of the M&S customer.

The front row was brimming with celebrities, but one lady who seemingly stole the show was none other than Dame Joan Collins. The 93-year-old sat front row with Katherine Jenkins, and we love her outfit, which was designed by the brand.

Looking decades younger than her years, the former Dynasty actress donned a simple black skirt, which she teamed with opaque tights, high heels and Hollywood shades. Accessorising to perfection, she added statement rings and large studs, and her bouffant hair was as voluminous as ever, but did you spot her blouse?

Joan, who has been married to theatrical producer Percy Gibson since 2002, donned the brand's 'Lyocell Rich Ruffle Tie Detail Blouse', which has an affordable price tag of £40.

The romantic, floaty blouse is designed with a flattering round neckline, which ties at the back with a statement contrast bow. Cascading ruffles decorate the front, enhancing the whimsical look, while ruffled cuffs and self-ties bring elegant detailing to the voluminous blouson sleeves.

As you can see, the bow is meant to go at the back, with the statement ruffles framing the front. But Joan wore the style back-to-front, with the statement black bow finishing at her neck. Genius!

Joan's comments on her legendary glamorous style

Joan gave an interview with British Vogue in 2019, where she touched on her personal style ethos. "I suppose I just gravitate towards whatever catches my fancy; it’s eclectic. Glamorous, playful, with a bit of sparkle," she mused.

Joan has said she "hates" jeans

Joan also revealed the one fashion item she can't stand. "I hate jeans. I hate them, they’re so unflattering. And I hate jeans with holes in the knees, or holes anywhere. I’m not keen on T-shirts with logos, either. I like to be comfortable, but I want to be elegant, too," she added.
