Kate's yellow dress: all the details

Kate Middleton looked lovely as she stepped out of the plane in a bright yellow wool crepe dress with white panels by Roksanda Ilincic.

Fashions fans were quick to praise the Duchess of Cambridge for her fashion-forward look, although husband Prince William apparently wasn't quite so keen.

"William said I look like a banana!" Kate told a lady in the crowd.

Serbian designer Roksanda may have had an inkling of what the Duchess of Cambridge was planning on wearing for her touchdown in Australia – hours before, she tweeted a close-up image of a yellow and white dress with the caption, "Bright yellow #SS14".

After Kate's appearance, she posted another tweet. "The Duchess of Cambridge wearing the @RoksandaIlincic SS14 Ryedale dress in Sydney during the royal tour to Australia," she wrote alongside a snap of the couple.

The dress is thought to be a custom design on the Ryedale dress – it is available to buy from Matches and Harvey Nichols but only in the colour inverse - white with yellow panels. It comes with a price tag of £950.
