Oscars 2015: Dresses the Best Actress nominees might wear on the red carpet

With the biggest night in showbiz, the Oscars, just days away, speculation over what the Best Actress nominees might wear is at fever pitch.

A lot of time and effort goes into finding the perfect dress – the Academy Awards' best-dressed lists are studied all around the world and a stunning gown can immediately cement a starlet's status as an A-lister.

As we gear up for this year's ceremony, take a look at our fashion predictions for each Best Actress nominee...

Juliane Moore, Still Alice:

The hot favourite to take home the coveted award, Julianne knows all eyes will be on her as she steps onto the famous red carpet. The actress favours jewel tones and often embraces a bit of subtle shimmer. She's also best friends with Tom Ford, which means the top designer might have custom-created something for the star.

Reese Witherspoon, Wild:

We'd love to see someone wearing Oscar de la Renta on the red carpet and, well, we nominate Reese. The actress has been showing off her sexy curves in colourful, form-fitting numbers recently – this blue bodice number would be perfect on her.

Felicity Jones, The Theory of Everything:

Felicity has been wowing in Dior this awards season, so we expect her to be wearing something from the French fashion house at the Academy Awards – this floral number from the Paris Couture runway would look beautiful on the stunning actress...

Rosamund Pike, Gone Girl:

Knowing Rosamund's penchant for cut-outs – she wowed at the Golden Globes in that Vera Wang gown – we can see her in this black velvet Valentino number, a perfect option to show off the actress' incredible post-baby physique.

Marion Cotillard, Two Days, One Night:

As a face of Dior, nominee Marion is bound to wear something from the fashion house to the Oscars. We can see the French actress in this slightly quirky, ultra-pretty floral number from the Couture catwalk – maybe minus the red patent boots, though...
