Ralph Lauren unveiled his fall/winter 17 collection to a star-studded crowd during New York Fashion Week on Tuesday night. The American designer invited famous guests including Jessica Chastain, Katie Holmes and Nina Dobrev to his personal car garage in Bedford, where they soaked up his latest line followed by a formal dinner.

Lauren had a unisex runway for the first time, with models such as Bella and Anwar Hadid, Taylor Hill and Kendall Jenner all rocking chic pieces. Bella graced the catwalk in a particularly striking scarlet gown featuring a PVC bodice and a long tulle skirt, while Kendall stunned in a dress boasting a yellow bodice with a black halterneck strap and a flowing tulle bottom.

Slinkier numbers came in the form of a glittering black and blue floor-length dress and a bold red spaghetti strap silk dress.

Sleek suits featured too, with both men and women stepping out in smart jackets and tailored trousers, while edgier ensembles such as a black leather dress and a short leather skirt turned heads.

Between the more formal outfits were splashes of sportswear, such as a male model wearing a black and yellow racer jacket and another man posing in a grey down jacket with the initials 'RL' printed on the front.

"My cars have always been an inspiration to me," Lauren explained in a statement. "I see them as moving art. My women's collection for fall 2017 connects the elements of the speed, style, and beauty of these handcrafted vehicles with the very modern, yet timeless spirit of the clothes. There is a sleekness, an innate sexiness, and power to shapes sculpted out of high tech patent leathers and high gloss silks."
