When you think of the royal family at Wimbledon, the Princess of Wales is always one of the first members of The Firm that pops into our heads. The avid tennis fan is also the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, and she frequents the SW19 venue year after year.
As a fashion editor who has been writing about royal style for over nine years, I feel that Kate's Wimbledon outfits are always impeccable and, in my opinion, some of her best.
The mother of three always sits in the best seat in the house, the Royal Box, and her ensembles are undeniably elegant.
For example, in 2025, looking the picture of grace, Kate watched Jannik Sinner take on Carlos Alcaraz in the Men's Singles Finals, wearing a gorgeous Roksanda cobalt blue A-line midi dress with a V-neck top and capped sleeves.
Kate's Wimbledon debut
Back in 2011, Kate made her first appearance at Wimbledon, a few months after she married Prince William. Taking to the Royal Box on Centre Court, she watched Andy Murray against Richard Gasquet.
Looking suitably resplendent, Kate stunned the crowds in a white tiered dress by Temperley London. The dreamy style featured hand-embroidered straps and a floaty, ruffled skirt that fell just above the knee. She paired the dress with nude high heels and a Stuart Weitzman clutch.
As Kate has aged, her hemlines have slowly lengthened. She's always adhered to the royal style etiquette, but during her younger years, she sported dresses a little shorter than the late Queen Elizabeth II would have expected. It's safe to say that Kate probably wouldn't opt for a dress like this in 2026, as her style is slightly more refined and conservative.
Kate, the Wimbledon Queen
The princess has been a huge tennis fan long before she became a member of the royal family.
In 2018, the royal visited a primary school in Mitcham, South London, and opened up to the keen young players. The brunette beauty famously said: "I love tennis, I think it's a great sport, I was really sporty when I was little, less so now that I've got lots of babies," she explained.
