It was wonderful to see pictures of Princess Kate embracing her famously athletic and sporty side as she completed the Three Peaks mountain challenge last week.
The 44-year-old climbed Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England, and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in Wales to raise funds for The Royal Marsden, where she underwent treatment for cancer.
Cheering her on were her proud husband, Prince William, her three adoring children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, her younger brother James, and her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton.
Speaking of Carole, the 71-year-old gave us all a lesson on how to pull off casual hiking attire while still looking acutely stylish. Identified by Royal British Fashion, Carole dressed to impress in an olive green jacket by Fjällräven, a pair of cargo pants from J.Crew, and the most fabulous Baker Boy cap in a striking stone shade.
Princess Kate's Baker Boy hat
Princess Kate has been a longtime fan of the Baker Boy hat. Although she appears to have a plethora of styles, her most worn comes from Really Wild, a brand long favoured by the Princess.
The hat is regarded as an 'It' girl accessory that dominated cool-girl fashion agendas in the 2010s.
The retro silhouette is a core piece of English countryside fashion heritage, becoming popular in the 1800s and early 1900s. It was later adopted by the upper class for outdoor events like hunting or shooting.
Kate was first spotted with a Baker Boy hat in 2013, when she paired it with a short khaki jacket, skinny jeans, and Wellington boots. Since then, the royal has often chosen the style when she has fronted events that take place outdoors.
We last saw her don one in January, when she took to Instagram to signal her birthday with a moving post. The brunette royal confessed that she was "deeply grateful" as she appeared in the final film of her Mother Nature series, which coincided with her big day.
The stunning film, which was shot by talented creative Will Warr, showed Kate walking through the Berkshire countryside as she reflected personally on her own journey and healing over the past two years.
Kate chose to wear a myriad of vintage pieces that she has had in her wardrobe for many years; her 'Elfie' jacket by Barbour, which was part of the Alexa Chung collaboration from 2019, and her Penelope Chilvers tasselled boots in 'Conker', which she first wore when she was at St Andrews University in 2001, as well as her trusty hat.
