There's no doubt about it: the Princess of Wales is the queen of accessories. From top-handled handbags to dazzling jewellery and her plethora of shoes, the mother of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis regularly elevates classic tailoring with refined details.

Now that the weather is getting chillier, it's time to bring out the knitwear, and the humble scarf is one of the easiest thermal additions to reach for. Catherine knows this and has amassed quite the collection.

The royal has amassed quite the scarf collection

The way that the royal adds her scarves to her outfit is nothing short of artful. Many people grab the knitted separate and tie it around their neck, securing it with a knot, but Catherine doesn't do this - she always artfully drapes hers, which gives any look expert elegance. Why not give it a try?

In 2025, the Princess of Wales shone in her birthday portrait, which was released by Kensington Palace.

The iconic black-and-white photo, taken by Matt Porteous, showed the royal looking joyfully relaxed while laughing good-naturedly at the camera. She sported a pair of skinny, dark-wash jeans, a simple white shirt and a sleek black jacket.

The scarf she chose to wear was never formally identified at the time due to the sepia tint of the picture, but we have a hunch it was designed by Aquascutum, a chic piece made from sumptuous merino wool.

In 2020, Catherine visited Cardiff Castle wearing a longline red coat teamed with a tartan scarf, designed by Scottish weaving company DC Dalgleish. She positioned the scarf over her shoulder, giving an instantly polished, artistic finish.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were all smiles as they stepped out on Christmas Day 2024 for the annual church service with the King and Queen. The royal accessorised her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen coat with a bow-adorned beret-style hat and a blue and green tartan scarf, once again, swept over her shoulder.
