Where better to look for inspiration than your own family, especially when you're looking for guidance on fashion choices that fit the royal mould.
Growing up in the spotlight, Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra has raided her mother Queen Mette-Marit's wardrobe on multiple occasions, particularly over the past few months.
In a new photo the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in New York shared on Instagram, Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra posed in front of the Statue of Liberty alongside her brother Prince Sverre Magnus during a summer trip.
The siblings wore matching navy outfits, with Sverre opting for a suit as he grinned and pointed to the landmark behind him, while Ingrid looked elegant in a laser-cut top from Hoss Intropia, layered over a cami.
Keeping her look casual, Ingrid styled her long brunette hair in a ponytail in the windswept photo.
How Crown Princess Ingrid copied her mother
Queen Mette-Marit previously wore the same top alongside Venyx earrings in 2021, when she made a virtual appearance at the Food and Health Conference to mark the 100th anniversary of the inclusion of food and health as subjects in school.
Neither the mother-daughter duo revealed how they had styled the piece, only revealing a close-up view of their outfits.
"Happy 140th, Lady Liberty. For 140 years, the Statue of Liberty has stood in New York Harbour as a symbol of hope and opportunity, welcoming generations of immigrants and visitors to the United States.
"One of New York City’s most iconic landmarks, she also makes for a pretty great backdrop. Pictured here are Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus during their first official visit abroad together this summer," the caption read.
The royals have long been fans of the perforated 'naked top', as the white version was first seen during Mette-Marit's official visit to Ethiopia in 2017, before Ingrid recreated the look at the Hudøy holiday camp in Færder in June 2026.
Since both of Ingrid's outings in the cut-out tops have occurred this year, it could indicate that the Spanish brand, which was founded in Madrid in 1994 by designer Constan Hernández, is quickly cementing itself as one of her favourites.
Queen Mette-Marit on fashion criticism
Queen Mette-Marit previously defended her occasional fashion rebellions after she came under fire for having a personal stylist and wearing designer outfits during a humanitarian trip to Myanmar in 2013.
Addressing the controversy during an interview with Dagbladet Magasinet, she noted: "There are some lines drawn up in this role I have, on how to dress and how to behave and everything like that. I try to stay within those lines, and I can see a certain use in relating to them. But if there is something I think I have to work on, it is the critique I get for that."
