Bridgerton's prequel series Queen Charlotte is just around the corner, and fans have taken to social media to speculate about the upcoming show - with one fan coming up with a particular theory on how the spin-off show could link to the main series - which is set to be released later in 2023.

Posting on Reddit, the fan pointed out that the third season of the hit show will have to cover a lot of ground regarding the characters, pointing out various storylines that take place in the novel series involving Benedict, Francesca, Eloise and of course, Colin and Penelope.

As such, they explained: "All that is a bit too much for one season, and there are also fans who are eagerly waiting to see the development of love between Kate and Anthony, which in my opinion received very little main focus as a happy couple. All this led me to think that we will still see some of the main Bridgerton couples in the QC series."

They continued (and some spoilers for those who haven't read the books): "I'm of the opinion that maybe we get a masquerade ball where Benedict meets Sophie or we see an introduction between Eloise and Phillip and then that couple can be the main couple together with Polin in S3.

"As far as I understood from the trailer, QC shows the king and queen in their youth as well as in the older years in which we met them, so it is not impossible to see the Bridgertons as well."

One person agreed, writing: "If they include, for example, a masquerade ball where B&S meet, it won't affect Benedict's story much because it takes place only a few years late anyway." Another person added: "I have to keep reminding myself that they can’t make anything vital happen in [Queen Charlotte] that would really impact Bridgerton season 3 because not all fans are going to watch both. Having dedicated fans who didn’t watch QC confused over something in season 3 wouldn’t be great." What do you think?
