This Morning's regular pundit Matthew Wright has shared his thoughts about King Charles' upcoming coronation, describing the historic royal event as "absolute nonsense".
The TV personality was discussing the upcoming event, which is set to take place in May, alongside Camilla Tominey, Jodie Gibson and Craig Doyle on the breakfast show – and was very passionate about what he had to say! Check out the clip here…
He added: "There's 220 countries in the world, almost all of them survive without a monarchy really well so it's not worth thinking about, 'Oh I'll have a monarchy like they have in Europe.'"
Fans had a mixed response to Matthew's comments, with one tweeting: " @CamillaTominey talking over and bullying @Matthew_Wright with her nonsensical waffle. Matthew absolutely great chap for speaking out and not letting her overpower him.
"Vote for it and those who want monarchy pay for it yourselves, soon see how many are in favour." Another person added: "Get Matthew Wright off my television. So shouty and so rude. Why do they keep having him on? He is so unlikeable and so over excited by his own opinion. Urgh!"
It has been something of a controversial time for This Morning presenters, as Alison Hammond was recently forced to apologise after notable backlash regarding her comments on singing along to musicals. Alison shared her regret at making light of disruptive theatre audiences, explaining she hadn't realised the gravity of the situation.

Posting white text against a simple dark background, the presenter wrote: "After reflection on the comments I made on Wednesday's show I want to apologise to anyone who I offended, especially the incredibly talented theatre performers, who I have the utmost respect for.
"I had no idea the level of disruption audiences were causing and tried to make light of the topic on Wednesday's show, for that I'm truly sorry. I'm a great supporter of theatre and the arts and would never sing at the top of my lungs in any performance."
