In the ring with Angel Adriana Lima: fitness secrets and congratulations for Kate

It's the secret many mothers want to get their hands on. And whilst not everyone has the time to work out an astonishing six hours a day to achieve the perfect post-baby body, the stunning Victoria Secret Angel's star Adriana Lima showed that she was more than up for the challenge.

On Entertainment Tonight the mum-of-two demonstrated her efforts on screen showing others how a few punches can go a long way.

With boxing as her exercise of choice, the 31-year-old showed that she is not only drop dead gorgeous but drop dead dangerous, with an eager anticipation to get back into the ring straight after pregnancy.

Just two days after getting the green light from her doctor the Brazilian beauty threw herself into training. Practicing the rigorous routine for over five grueling weeks before the all-important runway show, the regime consisted of two three-hour sessions each day, one in the morning and one in the evening.

The famous face of the lingerie brand has been lucky enough to work with a former professional boxer as her trainer and friend for the last six years. Michael Olajide, who co-founded the AeroSpace fitness studio in New York, made sure the model looked her very best, but confesses to still being shocked at Adriana's enthusiasm, saying that she "has the mind of a fighter. She's extremely competitive, she always likes to be at the best of her game."

The fist-fighting duo also both agreed in the joint interview that boxing can change one's approach to life. Whilst Adriana admitted that she enjoyed its challenging nature which is "great for the mind and wonderful for the body", her trainer spoke of the sport's physical benefits:

"You're using your upper body to get a great cardio workout, but you also get the great abs, and the beautiful arms, and everything else to go with it."

Adriana certainly showed that she is more than just a pretty face, admitting that the trick behind her gorgeous physique is the determination of an "athelete's mind". But her love for the sport, she says, is only secondhand to motherhood, taking a moment to congratulate the Duchess of Cambridge on the recent announcement of her pregnancy:

"Kate, it is unbelievable. All I can say is that it is the most beautiful experience a woman can have in their life," she said.

The model went on to further say that looking good is much more about balance than dieting, speaking out directly to her younger audience who are fans of the iconic lingerie line:

"It's not that I do crazy diets throughout the year. I just do it for this particular thing. After this show, I become normal again!' further adding to the Canadian network, "Those teenagers out there, don't go starving yourself or only drinking liquids... Don't do that please."
