Escape to the Chateau's Dick and Angel Strawbridge revealed on Thursday that they will be putting their clocks forward at the chateau this weekend - and they "can't wait for the lighter evenings".

"Spring is here! It won't be long until the Walled Garden is full of colour and fresh produce is heading straight into the kitchen. The clocks go forward at The Chateau this Sunday... we can't wait for lighter evenings and warmer weather," the post read. The news came as a surprise for some. "Didn't realise the clocks changed in France. Learned something today," wrote one.

Daylight saving time is something that happens in the UK, but also all across Europe, as well as in a few other countries like New Zealand.

The family are poised ready to change all of the clocks

The statement about the weekend plans at the chateau was accompanied by a photograph of Dick in the family garden, looking inquisitively at something he looked ready to plant. He stood within rows of planted produce ready to thrive in the summer months.

The couple are looking forward to the summer

As well as the confusion over the time zones, many enquired about when the show was airing in the US and others praised the family's idyllic outdoor space. "Awesome! I can’t wait to see your garden this year. Always so beautiful!" penned one and: "Love it," simply said another.

Dick, Angel and their two children Arthur and Dorothy recently returned from their Dare To Do It tour.

The family have recently been on tour

The Channel 4 stars first embarked on their tour back in February and travelled the length and breadth of the UK to share their stories about renovating their home in France. Their latest adventure saw the couple perform in venues around England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Taking to Twitter, Dick wrote: "Can’t quite believe it but our tour has finished…. We ended with a wonderful night in Belfast followed by an amazing finale in the London Palladium this evening …. It’s been very special and tomorrow night we’re in our own beds for the first time in nearly six weeks!"

We're sure it is nice to be home!
