The cosy edit: How to transform your home for autumn, according to the experts

No matter how much we might try to resist it, the inevitable is happening - the mercury is dropping and the nights are drawing in. But fret not, it's the perfect time for an autumn reset for your home. 

And no, we're not suggesting that you cover every available surface in pumpkins, but there are some simple hacks you can do to make your home feel instantly cosier.

On the panel, we have the incredible Karen Williams (@karenwilliamstylist), who is undergoing a home renovation as we speak so is an expert on all things 'beading.' And ultimately the panel agreed that it's all about the finishing touches. From the art you put on the walls to the coffee table books you choose to display. Plus, you're far less likely to get bored of your furnishings if they're sentimental to you, notes H! Fashion's Lauren who picks up a lot of her home accessories while abroad. 

We encourage you to think of your home like you would your wardrobe - it deserves an update for the colder climate too. Add thick blankets, change your cushion covers and embrace fabrics such as velvet and linen. 

Next, think about colour. No one should feel like they need to decorate every 4 months, but embrace accessories in seasonally appropriate shades that can be switched out with ease. If you're a chocolate brown lover, like Karen, now's the time to lean in. 

H! Fashion's Lauren also has a great tip - invest in some dried flowers in different shades. For spring/summer opt for pink, lavender and cream - then pop into your attic when the temperature drops and replace with oranges, reds and browns. A nifty trick that won't break the bank - and will last for years.
