Stephanie and Mathieu up close and personal

More usually to be seen jet-skiing in the Med or diving expertly off a luxury yacht, Princess Stephanie of Monaco extended her sporting interests to take in a football game the other day with her bartender boyfriend Mathieu and 12-year-old son Louis.

While Louis and a pal were intent on the Liverpool v Moscow CSKA game in Monte Carlo, his mother and her latest beau were clearly more interested in each other than the on-pitch action, joking and smooching during the match. Always a source of colourful speculation, the princess was recently rumoured to be contemplating re-marrying her first husband, Daniel Ducruet, father of two of her children. However, those rumours seem to be belied not only by these latest shots, but also by photos of Stephanie and Daniel enjoying a day out a few weeks ago with their respective current partners and all the kids.

The sun-bronzed group chatted happily together and 26-year-old Mathieu took breaks from waiting tables at the Monte Carlo beach to talk to Daniel and bestow kisses on Stephanie, 40. Daniel's girlfriend Nathalie, a former Miss France, had brought her own children along for the day and they frolicked in the water with Daniel and Stephanie's daughter Pauline and the princess' youngest child, Camille.

Since her 1996 divorce from former bodyguard Daniel, Stephanie has enjoyed a string of romances including dalliances with her late father's butler and a circus owner, as well as a brief marriage to a big-top trapeze artist.
