The Prince and Princess of Wales will return to their royal duties this week after spending the Easter holidays with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Kensington Palace confirmed on Monday that William, 40, and Kate, 41, will visit Birmingham on Thursday 20 April "to celebrate the city's diverse culture and heritage and meet future leaders in the creative industries".

The couple's joint outing will see them host future leaders and local business owners at an event in The Rectory, in the city's historic Jewellery Quarter.

The Prince and Princess will meet representatives including designers, artists, and playwrights and will hear more about how the sector is growing and their experiences of opening and running their businesses in the city.

The Rectory was opened five years ago and is an established pub and restaurant with a rich history spanning back decades.

And no doubt the couple will show off their competitive streak, as they join guests for a game of interactive darts downstairs in the 180 Club.

The Wales family were last seen publicly at the church service in Windsor on Easter Sunday, where Prince Louis, who turns five on Sunday, made his debut. Take a look back at their arrival and coordinating outfits in the clip below...

William last stepped out on official duties on 23 March during his visit to Poland, when he met with groups of Ukrainian refugees who had fled their homeland and settled in Warsaw.

The future King was also spotted in the crowd watching his beloved Aston Villa take on Nottingham Forest with nine-year-old George by his side.

Kate, meanwhile, was last on duty on 21 March when she hosted the inaugural meeting of the new Business Taskforce for Early Childhood in London.

The royal family are just weeks away from celebrating the King's coronation weekend, with a palace reception confirmed for the day before.

The ceremony will take place on 6 May at Westminster Abbey, with the Big Lunch and the coronation concert at Windsor Castle scheduled for 7 May. Bank Holiday Monday is being billed as the Big Help Out to encourage people to volunteer in their local community.
