James Middleton has shared a rare photo of his son, Inigo, to mark a very special milestone.

Taking to Instagram over the weekend, the Princess of Wales's younger brother gave an insight into his family life, with a picture of Inigo sitting next to his two golden retrievers, Mabel and Isla.

Inigo, now two, looked so adorable in a navy and white knitted jumper over a red gingham shirt, paired with blue trousers and hiking trainers.

He's clearly inherited his blonde hair from his mother, Alizee Thevenet, which was on display as he giggled and played with the dogs in the long grass.

James, 39, shared the picture to mark Isla's birthday, writing: "Happy 4th birthday Isla," alongside a balloon emoji in the caption.

Royal fans were left delighted by the picture, with one person commenting: "Too much cuteness in one photo!"

"The most adorable photo, James. Happy 4th birthday beautiful Isla," said a second.

Inigo is growing up so fast

James and his wife Alizee rarely share pictures of Inigo, and he doesn't join them at public events.

However, James occasionally shares glimpses into their family life on social media.

Kate's nephew turned two last September, with James sharing the sweetest tribute on Instagram.

Inigo was seen hugging their gorgeous golden retriever pup, as James penned: "Happy Birthday Inigo. We love you as much as you love Mabel….and that is a lot. And Ella is saying hello today too."

Ella is James's late cocker spaniel, who sadly passed away in January 2023.

James has previously credited Ella with saving his life during his battle with depression as she "gave me purpose and loved me unconditionally".

James Middleton's moving support for his sister Kate

James was a pillar of support for his sister, the Princess of Wales, as she completed her recent Three Peaks mountain challenge.

James was among the party to greet her at the bottom of Mount Snowdon, alongside Carole and Michael Middleton, as well as the Wales family.

In heartwarming footage, Kate could even be seen holding James's hand as he helped her down during one mountain descent.

Phillip Tebajjwa, who was also climbing Snowdon at the weekend, thought he was "dreaming" after he bumped into the royal, who had also climbed Ben Nevis in Scotland and Scafell Pike in Wales.

He wrote: "There I was, congratulating fellow climbers as they made their way down from the windy summit… little did I know I was actually speaking to royalty."
