Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's seven-year-old son Prince Archie has sparked comparisons to another rarely-seen royal relative.
Earlier this week, Harry's cousin Princess Eugenie shared an ultra-rare photo of her two sons, August and Ernest Brooksbank (aged five and three respectively), doting over their newborn baby sister Adelaide. The boys were pictured cradling their little sister in the heartwarming snap from the family's private photo album.
Eugenie occasionally posts photos of her sons for special occasions such as birthdays, but she tends to keep their faces out of sight. In the latest photo, August and Ernest looked so grown up with their long hair – and royal fans couldn't help but notice one of them looked just like Harry and Meghan's eldest.
One person on X (formerly Twitter) suggested Archie had an "uncanny resemblance" to one of Eugenie's sons, who are of a similar age.
Another fan agreed, sharing a side-by-side close-up of Eugenie's son pictured on the right with his second cousin Archie, who sports fiery red hair just like his dad. "They do, but very slight difference in the ear," they remarked, while someone else went as far as to call him Archie's "doppelgänger".
Along with the resemblance, Archie shares something else in common with his second cousins now: he's also a big brother to a younger sister, Princess Lilibet, five.
Eugenie's sons are 'already the best big brothers'
Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their third child on 3 August in a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. 14 days later, the royal revealed her baby girl's name is Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank.
"It means "noble" and has royal history: the German princess Adelaide married Britain’s King William IV in the 1830s. She was such a beloved queen – known as "Good Queen Adelaide" – that she popularised her name in the early 19th century. The Australian city of Adelaide is named after her," Sophie Kihm, baby name expert and editor-in-chief at Nameberry, the world’s largest website devoted to baby names, told HELLO!.
Sharing new photos of her daughter from her private family album on 17 August, Eugenie gushed: "2 weeks ago today we welcomed our girl to the world. And since then we've had the most special, cosy and love-filled time."
"We are so happy to share Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank. Named after three people we love and admire past and present, including her Great-Grandmother who we hold close in our hearts. Her name is part of English and Portuguese history, two places we love and call home."
Eugenie sweetly added that her boys "are already the best big brothers" to Adelaide.
