The Princess of Wales has received a sincere apology from Travis Kelce's sister-in-law, Kylie.
The podcast host, who is married to Jason Kelce, said she apologised for her "mistake" after learning how to address her in the correct way.
During an episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast on 24 September, Kylie extended an invitation for Kate to join her one day, addressing the royal as "Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge".
However, she apologised for the error during her latest episode on Thursday, saying she was "unaware" it was "offensive", and clarifying that she would be calling her the "Princess of Wales" from now on.
She said: "I didn’t know that. Now I know that. Now I will proceed accordingly. I apologise for the mistake. I would like to refer to people in the most respectful way and how they feel respected.
"Princess Catherine, or the Princess of Wales, I apologise. I will get that sorted immediately, starting now."
Kylie's podcast invitation for Kate
Last week, mother of four Kylie, who is NFL player Travis's sister-in-law, extended a podcast invitation to Kate, saying they have "a couple things in common".
Kylie told the royal: "Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, if you ever wanted to come on and chitchat about some field hockey and maybe kids. I don’t know. We got a couple things in common."
She added: "We’d love to have you. No pressure. Please."
In July, Kate's husband, Prince William, made a surprise appearance on Jason and Travis's New Heights podcast.
William has a long-time connection with Travis's wife, pop superstar Taylor Swift, and even took Prince George and Princess Charlotte to her concert at Wembley in 2024.
He also joined Swift and US rock star Jon Bon Jovi on stage for an impromptu rendition of Bon Jovi’s Livin’ On A Prayer in 2013, at a charity event held at Kensington Palace.
Why do people still address the Princess of Wales as Kate Middleton?
The Princess's formal title is Catherine, Princess of Wales, but she's still frequently called Kate Middleton.
Prince William referred to his partner as "Kate" in their 2010 engagement interview, and the university nickname stuck for many years.
But over the years, the Princess, born Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, has introduced herself as Catherine when out on engagements.
Many websites still refer to her as "Kate Middleton" for SEO (search engine optimisation) reasons, as that's what many people still type into the search bar.
These days, the Princess signs off her messages with a "C" for Catherine, rather than "K" for Kate, making her personal preference clear.
