Lorraine Kelly's fashion is going from strength to sartorial strength as she showcases the best of the high street for autumn. Her latest look? A gloriously autumnal lace dress that's as classic as it is chic, thanks to its dark autumnal hue.
Lorraine's Boden dress consisted of a ruffled neckline, fabric covered buttons and an empire waistline - a detail that Lorraine appears to love, as she wears many dresses featuring the flattering accent which fits and flares. The cuffed sleeves can be pushed up or down to suit any occasion, and the midi length is just right, hitting between the knee and ankle.
- Lorraine Kelly hosted her morning show Lorraine on Tuesday October 6.
- The Scottish TV presenter wowed viewers in a dark red lace dress from Boden.
- Berry shades are all over the high street, sparking a big trend for AW26.
But it's the colour that I - and Lorraine's viewers - are obsessed with. Skipping the dark navy, blacks or browns usually worn around this time of year, Lorraine's is a beautiful dark cherry red, a more striking shade than its peers and romantic in its hue.
Her dress managed to look smart, and feminine, and was clearly comfortable. Lorraine joined Dr Amir in a few exercises to test strength and coordination, and her dress managed to keep up with Lorraine's fitness.
The dress isn't a one size fits all deal; it's been created in different lengths, petite and regular, allowing those under 5ft3 a shorter length dress that still hits as a midi. It's available in sizes 4 - 22.
Lorraine proves that a well-fitting, flattering dress can have the same impact as a brighter version or something with a pattern. Dark red acts as a sophisticated neutral for this time of year, making Lorraine look effortless - helped by her coordinating classic heeled pumps in a similar dark red shade.
Made from 47% polyamide, 45% cotton and 8% elastane, it also benefits from a built-in lining, saving you having to add a slip underneath.
Lorraine's hit the ground running with her berry toned dress, as the dark gothic shade was spotted on the catwalks of Miu Miu, Michael Kors and Lanvin. Since its a relatively subdued colour, dark red tones are great to try if you want to branch out to wearing colour but aren't quite ready to fully embrace the tomato reds and royal purples that dominated the AW26 runways.
If you have a winter wedding, smart event or even an office party, this is a classic occasionwear dress to stash for those events.
Get The Look For Less
Dark red and berry tones are dominating the high street right now, with everything from coats to dresses to bags to shoes in the colour. I love this Wallis Lace Dress, a similar style to Lorraine's but with the addition of a silky, pointed lapel.
Karen Millen's burgundy red lace dress has shorter sleeves, but a formal peplum hem detail that would look great on a festive dancefloor.
Monsoon's fun and flirty berry red lace dress features a similar shape to Lorraine, with a v-neckline, fit and flare shape, and midi length but has the addition of short, puffed sleeves.
Pair these dresses with coordinating berry-hued shoes or bags and you'll be tapping into one of the biggest colour stories of the season.
