London has been revealed as the most popular UK city on Instagram

The capital city has received some 72.5 million mentions in the last six-and-a-half years, no doubt alongside photos of popular landmarks such as the London Eye, Big Ben and Houses of Parliament. It is no wonder London topped the list; as well as being home to over eight million people, it is also a popular tourist hotspot both with visitors from the UK and overseas.

One of the UK's most popular beach destinations, Brighton, rounded off the top five with 3.4 million posts, likely showing off the famous Brighton Pier, The Lanes and the city's pebble beach.
