This Mother's Day, Nicole Kidman is paying tribute first and foremost to her two girls!
The actress, 58, shares daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith, 15, with her ex-husband Keith Urban. She also welcomed two more kids, Bella and Connor, with her first husband, Tom Cruise.
The Kidman girls
To mark American Mother's Day this weekend, Nicole took to her Instagram page with a throwback photo of herself with her two young daughters, likely exploring the Australian outback.
The mom-of-four hoisted Sunday on her back, while Faith looked at her adoringly, all three sporting bushy, natural curls, a departure from their usually sleek styles for public appearances.
"To my beautiful girls, the greatest joy is being your mother," she captioned the post. "Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers in the world."
Nicole and Keith's split
Last year, Nicole and Keith separated after nearly 20 years of marriage, with their divorce finalized just a few months later in January of 2026. Per their custody arrangement, Nicole received primary physical custody of their daughters, although Keith is still an active part of their lives.
It was also specified in the terms of their divorce that neither party would speak poorly of each other as well, with no one person paying the other spousal or child support, and all matters pertaining to their children would be decided upon jointly.
"They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent," their marital dissolution agreement read. "They will encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families."
Speaking out
Speaking with Variety earlier this year, Nicole noted of 2025: "I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell."
She then spoke directly about her split from Keith when asked if she was doing alright post-separation. "I am, because I'm always going to be moving toward what's good," she said, noting that her family was and always will remain her number one priority.
"What I'm grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward," the Moulin Rouge star continued. "That's that. Everything else I don't discuss out of respect. I'm staying in a place of, 'We are a family,' and that's what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women."
Home base in Nashville and beyond
Nicole also confirmed that despite a shift in their personal situation, she will remain in Nashville for the foreseeable future because her daughters have also built their lives there. "We have our life here. I'm part of the city and community for 20 years. It's my home."
Although that hasn't stopped them from traveling extensively, with Nicole and Sunday in New York City just this past weekend to attend the Met Gala together. "I've worked so hard since I was 14 on this exploration of the human spirit, and I've loved being global."
"I've gone to the Algerian border with Werner Herzog to ride camels. My kids have gotten to live in Morocco and see so much more of what the world is. The different tastes, smells, languages, ideas. All three of us have done seven continents."
