Kourtney Kardashian may be a mother of four, but that doesn't mean that she hasn't weathered her fair share of fertility heartbreak. The reality TV star opened up about suffering a miscarriage just six months into her relationship with Blink-182 rocker Travis Barker, whom she married in May 2022.

Kourtney shared in Travis' upcoming documentary, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear, that in 2021, she fell pregnant with a baby girl shortly after they started dating. The couple had even picked out a name for her – Tulip – yet discovered at Kourtney's three-month doctor's appointment that the baby had no heartbeat.

"When we lost the baby, we were devastated," the 47-year-old shared in the documentary. "We cried for days." Despite their heartbreak, Kourtney fell pregnant again in 2023, a year after their lavish Italian wedding.

She famously announced the good news to her husband with a "Travis I'm pregnant" sign at a Blink-182 concert in Los Angeles. They went on to welcome their son, Rocky Thirteen, in November 2023.

Kourtney also shares her kids Mason, 16, Penelope, 13, and Reign, 11, with her ex-partner, Scott Disick, and Travis is a father to Landon, 22, Alabama, 20, and stepdaughter Atiana with his ex-wife, Shanna Moakler. The Kardashians star previously opened up about her grueling IVF journey, which she embarked on while dating Travis.

"I stopped after a year of trying (five failed IVF cycles, three retrievals)…my body relaxed, and I believed in God's plan for my life," Kourtney wrote on Instagram in 2024.

"Lots of prayers for whatever was meant to be for us. Also lots of optimizing my health." She added that she got pregnant "100 percent naturally" after deciding to stop IVF treatments.

"We were not trying whatsoever. I wasn't even checking my ovulation anymore," she shared on The Kardashians in reference to her pregnancy with Rocky. "We decided to put it in God's hands and thought it was just not happening. We were accepting of it and then...God's plan." Kourtney added that it felt like "a miracle" to fall pregnant naturally.

As Kourtney was in her 40s when trying to conceive a baby with Travis, she told Vanity Fair Italia that she felt IVF was "almost a non-choice" and that she was "pushed towards it as if it were the only option".

"The truth is, I felt like I was doing something that wasn't right for me. My intuition was telling me that it wasn't suitable for me – I don't even take medicine, imagine – that it was working against my body rather than for it," she explained. "When we stopped forcing the process, then it happened."

Kim and Khloé have also been candid about their fertility struggles

Kourtney's sisters have also been open about their fertility journeys, with Kim Kardashian choosing to welcome her third and fourth children, Chicago and Psalm, via surrogate as she suffered from placenta accreta during the birth of her eldest two children, North and Saint.

Khloé Kardashian also used a surrogate to welcome her second child, Tatum, after doctors warned that she would likely miscarry if she got pregnant again.
