Keith Urban has shared his first message to ex-wife Nicole Kidman following their divorce.
The country music star took to social media on June 20 to share a 4-word message to the actress - who is the mother of his two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15.
Against a colorful backdrop, Keith wrote: "Happy birthday Nicole Mary," showing that the pair were still on good terms. Nicole and Keith announced their separation in September 2025, and finalized their divorce in January 2026.
While Keith hasn't spoken out about their divorce, Nicole has briefly touched upon it. In March, she made a rare public comment about how she was feeling in the aftermath of the separation. "I'm good. I'm holding steady," she told The Age Australia. "That's a good place to be able to say," she added.
Discussing the breakdown of her marriage during an interview with Variety in March, Nicole noted that 2025 was a difficult year for her. "I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell."
The award-winning actress was asked if she was doing okay following her split, to which she replied: "I am, because I'm always going to be moving toward what's good." She also noted that her family was and always will remain her number one priority. "What I'm grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward," Nicole continued.
"That's that. Everything else I don't discuss out of respect. I'm staying in a place of 'We are a family,' and that's what we'll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women."
Nicole and Keith's divorce agreement specified that neither party would speak negatively about the other. All matters regarding their daughters will be decided jointly, and neither are paying the other spousal or child support. "They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent," the marital dissolution agreement read. "They will encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families."
Both Nicole and Keith are based in Nashville, although they both travel frequently for work. Talking to Variety in 2025, Nicole said: "We have our life here. I'm part of the city and community for 20 years. It's my home."
Now that they are older, Nicole and Keith's daughters are stepping into the spotlight too. Their oldest, Sunday, has made a name for herself as a model, while Faith frequently appears on red carpets with her mom and older sister too. Nicole is also mom to grown-up children, Isabelle, 34, and Connor, 32, who she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
