Tony Romo, 48, was arrested on Thursday, July 23 on suspicion of Operating While Intoxicated. The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback participated in the Wisconsin Amateur Championship and was later arrested on I-43 in Milwaukee, some 40 miles away from the course.
While neither Tony, nor his wife of 15 years, Candice Crawford Romo, have commented on the arrest, the family is most likely coming together to support each other during this somewhat difficult time.

Tony was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2006 as a backup starter quarterback. He soon after became a Pro Bowl player who holds several records on the NFL team. But most importantly, during his time on the Cowboys, he met his wife.
In 2009, Tony met his future wife Candice who was working as a local sports intern and reporter covering the Cowboys. For their first date, the quarterback reportedly tricked Candice by inviting her on a group outing that later turned out to be a one-on-one evening.

The 39-year-old was born in Texas and went on to study journalism at the University of Missouri. While in college, she worked for the local NBC affiliate as a reporter and sports anchors. After she graduated, Candice started covering high school sports for CW33 TV in Dallas before hosting a Dallas Cowboys' weekend sports show, Special Edition.

The journalist is used to being around those in the spotlight. Candice's older brother is the Gossip Girl actor Chace Crawford. The siblings grew up in Texas as lifelong Cowboys fans, meaning the actor was starstruck when he met his little sister's boyfriend.
"It was very surreal to become friends with them," he shared during a 2020 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. We were the family that took ridiculous Christmas pictures in front of the fireplace with Cowboys Starter jackets and white turtlenecks and that's a true story ... When he became a part of our family, watching those football games became a lot more nerve-racking."

On Candice's 24th birthday in 2010, Tony asked her to marry him. Six months later, they married in a six hundred guest ceremony at Arlington Hall, a historic mansion in uptown Dallas. The wedding was star-studded, with former Cowboys players like Troy Aikman and Dez Bryant as well as the team owner Jerry Jones in attendance.

In 2008, Candice was crowned Miss Missouri USA while she was a junior in college. She credited her broadcast journalism curriculum for helping her win.
"Getting up on stage in a swimsuit is not easy," she told the Columbia Tribune at the time, adding that the reporting she did for the local television station was "excellent practice for this pageant."

The couple has three sons: Hawkins, 14, Rivers, 12, and Jones, eight. The journalist loves being a boy mom.
"Sure, it would have been new and different to have a little girl running around," Candice told People in 2017. "But we love our boys and I love being a 'boy mom' … The best part about being a boy mom is that they keep me active! Whether it's sword fighting or playing basketball, we are constantly on the go."
As for their famous uncle, Chace says he's "the best." The actor opened up about his relationship with his nephews to People, saying: "I'm like Christmas. I'm the best [uncle]."
